F. Scott Kennedy is a native of Duplin County and holds a Bachelors degree from the University of Mount Olive. He has over 20 years of law enforcement experience at the local and state level, having served as Assistant Special Agent in Charge with the NC State Bureau of Investigations; he currently works as the Lieutenant within the Professional Development Unit at the Duplin County Sheriffs Office. In addition to being a certified law enforcement instructor, with a specialty in Firearms, Scott holds black belts in several disciplines of the martial arts and is an ordained minister. He has trained internationally and is in great demand for his teaching in the areas of self-defense and personal protection.
Darrell T. Moore is a native of central North Carolina and holds a Bachelors degree in History from Elon University, where he played college football. As a graduate of the US Department of Defense Polygraph Institute at Fort Jackson (SC), Darrell has served as a polygraph examiner in the area of psychophysiological detection of deception for over 12 years and, upon his retirement in 2016 from almost 30 years of full-time law enforcement service, he was presented The Old North State Award by North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory. Darrell, a long time certified instructor, has trained thousands of law enforcement officers in the area of physical fitness, defensive tactics, and general law enforcement topics. Additionally, he is the proud father of a son who is a veteran of the United States Army and a son who currently serves in the United States Air Force.
